With a career spanning over two decades, her contribution to Iranian visual narration has earned her critical acclaim and multiple awards, making her a prominent name in the industry.
Qalamfarsaee began her professional journey in 2000 with the film ‘Blue’, directed by Hamid Labkhandeh.


She gained widespread recognition for her work on ‘The Painting Pool’ (2012), directed by Maziar Miri, where she served as both set and costume designer.
Her work on the film won her the Crystal Simorgh for best set and costume design at the 31st Fajr International Film Festival.
Qalamfarsaee had previously been nominated for the Crystal Simorgh at the 27th Fajr Film Festival for her design work on ‘The Voices’ (2008), directed by Farzad Motamen.
That same year, she won the Crystal Simorgh for best costume design for ‘When We Are All Asleep’, directed by Bahram Beizaee.


Additionally, her artistic excellence in theatre was recognized when she won the award for best costume design at the 31st Fajr International Theater Festival for a production of ‘Hamlet’.
Her filmography is rich and diverse, showing her ability across genres.
Among her most notable cinematic works are ‘The White Cow’s Elegy’ (2019), ‘Silence’ (2015), ‘Closer’ (2014), ‘Life Is Elsewhere’ (2013), ‘Here Without Me’ (2010), ‘Sa’adat Abad’ (2010), ‘No Men Allowed’ (2010), ‘The Verdict’ (2009), ‘Adam's Son’, ‘Eve's Daughter’ (2008), and ‘Life with Closed Eyes’ (2008).


She also designed costumes for ‘The Sounds’, ‘When We Are All Asleep’, and ‘Carnival of Death’, all released in 2008.
In addition to her dominant presence in cinema, Qalamfarsaee has made select contributions to television, most notably with the series ‘Soulmate’ and earlier in her career as an assistant set designer in the popular drama ‘In Your Arm’.
